What makes organic cotton more sustainable than regular cotton?

As you probably already know, we believe in being a force for good. That's why we made the decision to make all of our products from 100% organic cottons or recycled materials. But what makes organic cotton a more sustainable material to use over regular cotton?

Well it turns out that organic cotton is a more sustainable material than regular cotton for a number of reasons.

IT USES ZERO HARMFUL CHEMICALS

Organic cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides and herbicides. This means that it is much better for the environment it's grown in and for the health of the workers who grow and harvest it. Nice!

IT USES A LOT LESS WATER TO PRODUCE

Water shortages are a major environmental issue in many parts of the world today. So by using organic cotton instead, we use a lot less water than traditional cotton production. This means more water to surf in!

IT BENEFITS OUR ECOSYSTEMS

Finally, organic cotton farming supports biodiversity by promoting healthy soils and ecosystems. In contrast, traditional cotton production often results in soil degradation and habitat loss (not cool). I think it's clear to see that organic cotton is a more sustainable choice for people who really do care about the environment and making a positive impact on it.
